History
In the 1930s, Milton County Georgia merged with Fulton County. The city is located in the former Milton County and at some point it may re-emerge as its own county. Incorporated in 2006, Milton was formed from unincorporated areas of the 30004 zip code in Alpharetta and now also has some areas in the new 30009 zip code.
